From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring divine entities, demons, and sinister influences expanding in power within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to begin their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise started the campaign’s events—used the foes for his own means, invading the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the party enter areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in search of the traitor.
What’s Next?
From the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Explorers and Schemers parties.
Fans can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
